Greek for ‘a simple and truthful life in comfort,’ the Lagoon 56′ sailing catamaran, ADEIA 2, or “A2” offers just that. Cockpit with spacious teak and walk-in access, it is a dining/sunbathing area combination with bar. Orange and white plus blue and white striped throw cushions on gray benches, including one across the aft end of the cockpit and another, brighten up the area with single deck bed for sunbathing. It has a hard top for shade at sea and soft lighting for use at night.
Stairs lead from the cockpit to the fly bridge, a lounge/sunbathing area with awning with leaf that comes down at sea, unless there is no wind and then they would leave the leaf up for shade at sea.
The cute crew of three includes a pretty stewardess, as well as chef Jenny Miller, her third year onboard. They’ve all signed up for a 4th year – they will be aboard for the winter 2017/2018 winter as well. They have ten weeks booked, not including the owner’s time, and they are hoping to get 10 more weeks of charter, spread out over the next 11 months (2017). They will remain in the Caribbean for the summer 2017. Jaco Brand, captain, has been aboard 6 years – he’s from South Africa and Jenny is from Sydney – they are getting married in August, 2017.
Accommodation: Sleeps eight in four cabins. 7 & 8 persons need to be children as one cabin has bunk beds, even though these bunk beds are sturdy enough for adults. Space and storage in the 4th cabin is limited. That cabin suits 6 year olds. So they take families of eight or six adults and two children – or three couples.
Saloon: Beautiful saloon with 2 model boats – turquoise table napkins, color coordinated throw cushions around the dining table – silver napkins rings. Galley with propane burner is opposite the dining table. Coffee bar.
Master Cabin: located aft to starboard with glass hatch leading into cockpit – two accesses – the other hallway leads into the saloon – large roomy glass shower and separate WC closet. TV in master cabin and saloon only – Satellite TV –
VIP Cabin: Second cabin is large, located forward – Queen – stairs to bed – centerline – stall showers – electric heads – fans – lighting in stairs –
Twin Cabin: Upper and Lower twin cabin with full head and shower – considerably smaller – but beds are full standard singles. Air conditioning runs all night – ask to use during day. If/when the air conditioning is not left on at night, everybody has to get up and close the hatches to keep out the rain, so the crew run the AC all night, and they like it on too.
Sports: 1 stand up paddle board
