“A Privilege 64, ALLURE is hull number four, customized, and look at it,” Captain Paul says, “She is absolutely beautiful.”  Showing me the foredeck, which featured an array of waterskis, paddleboards, noodles and all manner of watersports toys, Captain Paul, an attractive, thirties-something Englishman in blue and white shorts says, “We obviously have our standard toys, but here we have a sunbathing area built into the coach roof, an area to relax while on anchor.  Now I’m going to take you up to the fly bridge, where Brigitte is waiting for you.”

“Welcome to the flybridge,” says Brigitte, holding a tray of yummy looking drinks with umbrellas.  “I’d like to serve you one of our welcome cocktails; it’s a raspberry cordial made on the boat with lots of ice.  We can serve them here on the fly bridge while we’re sailing, or on the foredeck, and the vessels sails absolutely spectacularly.”  I notice the fly bridge is an entire lounge, complete with couches, sunbeds, bimini awning, an entire room with views all around – an ideal place to sit at sea in the shade – spectacular.

Next stop Captain Paul shows us ALLURE’s beautiful aft deck, unlike anything I’ve ever seen before on a catamaran.  “Here on the transom is a couch with sitting area, a delightful place to sit and watch the sun go down, and below that is my favorite area, a beach club; a platform with two large umbrellas holding deck chairs, and the platform can be lowered into the water for use with swimming or raised to hold the dinghy at sea.”

Once again, Brigitte arrives, bearing a tray of delicious canapes, as we enter the aft cockpit.  A pretty English woman, fit and confidant, she says cheerfully,   “In the event you don’t want to get too much sun, the cockpit has a lounge bed outboard of the dining table, an area to get out of the sun and read a book, and the table is where we serve lunch and dinner.”

“Come on inside,” she says.  Here Captain Paul is shaking up a cocktail from an area in the saloon dedicated as a wet bar.  “We have a wide selection of alcohol; this is obviously not all of it.  I love to make cocktails.  I make cocktails that you have never tried before.”

“If you’d like to follow me to the master cabin,” Brigitte says, “I will show you the port pontoon first.  As you can see the master cabin is beautiful here and spacious with custom made linens.  There are duvets, because the yacht has plenty of air conditioning, and the mattresses are made from microfibre.  We also have microfibre pillows.  They smell like pine needles; they’re really special,” she whispers.  “Now let’s go into our Queen size aft guest cabin.  Each cabin has private bathroom with stall shower.”

When we return to the main saloon, first mate Ivan takes over from Brigitte and says, “Now we’re going to take you down to the starboard aft cabin.  There are a couple of built in drawers, and as you can see windows at the foot of the bed enable you to be able to see out, while lying in bed.”

“The galley, located just forward of the third stateroom is where the magic happens,” Brigitte says, who has been waiting for us to appear.  “This is where we prepare all your tasty treats.”  Bearing a tray full of individual shot glasses full of creamy custards, looking so beautiful to eat, Brigitte says, “Today we have all manner of beautiful creamy desserts.”  They did look wonderful; the crew of ALLURE truly do know service, and they are just as nice and pleasant as they could possibly be.
