CATSY is one of our favorite yachts in the Virgin Islands. She has a warm, varnished deck saloon which opens to a spacious cockpit with flybridge above that and four comfortable staterooms, each with Queen bed, and two lovely, experienced, American crew, Michael and Jennifer Lang, who ran the 57′ catamaran ADASTRA before joining CATSY in July, 2016. CATSY is beautifully maintained; she is a classic, 62’ Sunreef catamaran, built in 2008 with wide uncluttered teak decks and highly varnished paneling inside. This is what makes her a feel like a classic, even though she was actually built in 2008. The warm wood interior gives her a nautical feel and a cozy, warm interior. This together with the yacht’s teak decks mark CATSY has a quality yacht, and we think CATSY has pretty lines as well. We like the Sunreef Cats alot.
CATSY sleeps 8 guests in 4 cabins, all with double bed, but the two guest staterooms aft (in each pontoon) have Queen beds, whereas the two cabins forward have double berths….but all the cabins have Satellite TV, 24/7 air conditioning, and private ensuite bathroom with electric heads and stall showers. Six guests work best on CATSY, but eight guests are often accommodated, if it’s a family. Michael and Jennifer have their own cabin forward with separate access over the bow.
CATSY’s spacious saloon functions as a bar, lounge, dining area, chart table, and galley. It opens out to an enormous cockpit where Jennifer serves meals…. That cockpit is certainly large enough to host a crowd. They have a barbeque on one of the stanchions aft, so they can barbecue when they want.
The yacht also has a fly bridge, and there’s lots of sunbathing space on the bow, where “trampolines” connect the hulls, which you can walk on and sunbathe on, and it’s cool to lie on them at sea and interesting when a porpoise breaches in front of the bow.
There are swimming ladders off each of the hulls aft, and fresh water deck showers on the “sugarscoops” for when you get out of the water…. The yacht makes hot, fresh water….
Being a Sunreef catamaran, CATSY was built in Poland, so her electricity is 220 volts, however they do have invertors, and guests can bring appliances to plug in, although the yacht does supply hair dryers and iPod docks and shampoo….
