Available from New York to Maine this summer (2017), the excellently maintained 74’ Andre Houk (Holland) classic sloop, COPIHUE, (pronounced Copiway), is maintained like new and is ideal for families of four or two couples. There is a full beam master cabin aft with double berth and private bathroom and choice of two staterooms forward that shares a bathroom with the crew, who take one of these cabins. One forward stateroom has a double berth; the other has upper and lower bunk bed twins. Each stateroom has pristine taut white sheets and duvets.
The varnish gleams, and the full beam classic saloon has glass lockers and model ship, indirect lighting, wine glasses, and silver decanters. The china is from Mexico with blue and white fish with plate holders. The table is beautifully set. There’s a U-shaped settee around a dining table to port and a bench settee to starboard, upholstered in turquoise and green stripes with color coordinated throw cushions.
The yacht’s crew of three is British. Captain Michael Symes is assisted by Alison Hill in the galley and Raymond Nicholson is first mate. These three have been working together for six years; they love the coast of Maine. Michael is outgoing, personable, and in his late 30s….early 40s… They keep COPIHUE beautifully for her owner.
On deck the yacht has a center cockpit with lots of gleaming teak. Out of door dining is offered. They are available in Maine in July, then Rhode Island in August, where they are available to pick up charters anywhere from Saybrook, CT to Sag Harbor, NY. They are hoping to fill their calendar. On September 25th, 2017, they will sail for Europe to refit in Holland this winter, but they will return to the Eastern Seaboard of the United States for the summer of 2018. Or they will charter in the Mediterranean. The yacht charters for $23,500 a week plus expenses. Day charters are available for $3,500 a day.
