This is a 124 ft. ten-person motor yacht with elegant, black, white and silver saloon with silver sculpture and faux zebra skin chairs….. Lots of places to sit – bar – daggers, orchids, standing lamps… Dining saloon forward seats ten. It opens aft to a bar full of sandwiches and finger foods and a welcoming committee of crew – seven in total, all from Croatia, including blond captain Ivan Bilaver, chef Elvis Bajlo, and two stewardesses Bozena and Magda, all as nice as they can be! The yacht is based in Croatia for Summer 2020.
I call INDIGO STAR a folk boat, because she just completed a circumnavigation and features some of the art her owners purchased from around the world. The wilde beastie theme is not overdone. Formal and elegant in black, white and silver, it’s only when you look closely, you see her Rosseau theme. I like this yacht immensely.
She accommodates ten guests in five staterooms with master on deck, taking up the whole forward end of the ship, down a long corridor, off of which is a walk in closet, bathtub, king bed, couch, elegant head board in black with grommets, leather lamps, television, gray carpets and office.
A steep circular staircase leads below to four additional guest cabins on the accommodation deck with full beam VIP cabin with King, making the yacht ideal for two couples, plus two additional Queen guest cabins plus a twin, each of them spacious with bookshelves and leather headboards. The full beam VIP cabin has jet tub, and the hallways are wide and spacious. Piped music throughout, television with DVDs.
We ducked our heads into Elvis’ beautiful stainless steel galley, located on the main deck and found him in apron. A graduate of culinary school, Elvis has restaurant experience, cruise ship experienced, catering experience, and private yacht experience. He is a professional chef.
The sky lounge on INDIGO STAR is long and narrow with white couches, standing lamps, steel aligator table made of nuts and bolts from an artist in Thailand, wilde beastie rug, bar, leather couches…. Beautiful. It opens onto a private deck with spots of purple on couches along the stern, long dining table with rope chairs, all under shade.
The intimate sun deck has sunbathing beds forward, cocktail seating aft, BBQ – Elvis comes up – teak decks, and sun shade. There is no Jacuzzi, but the yacht carries one jet ski, fly board, two sea bobs, scuba gear (for certified divers), and as Ivan says, “We are stabilized at anchor and at sea; it’s a good thing….”
It’s a boon to cruise Croatia with an all-Croatian crew aboard an impeccable, spotless yacht with fresh fabrics, brand new linens, everything fresh and new, beautifully maintained, like new, and her seven Croatian crew are attractive, caring, and experienced. INDIGO STAR is comfortable and pristine. I inspected her in Barcelona in May 2019 and give her A+, a perfect ten!
