Based in San Raphael near San Tropez in the South of France, just 90 minutes from Nice International Airport, the smallest of the Feadships, the 100’ LA MASCARADE, built originally in 1997, just finished an enormous refit over the last three years and has a chic black and white saloon, original Feadship flat oak gray floors in the hallways, and black and tan marble floors in the bathrooms…. The detailing is exquisite.

The ‘on deck’ master cabin has a full beam, marble bathroom.

A second full beam cabin is located below with gray and pink marble bathroom and jet tub….

Two mirror-image double guest cabins feature day and night lighting options and double beds, on the whole making the yacht ideal for two to four couples or families of five…

All 4 staterooms have large bathrooms.

Operated by six crew, including her delightful British captain, Giles Woodhead, LA MASCARADE has a phenomenal chef on board, who enters any kind of culinary contest.  Having competed in the culinary Olympics, his meals are as beautiful to look at as they are to taste, and he whips them up fast.  When we inspected this yacht in Genoa in May, 2016, he had prepared a full meal to show us how he plates things.  The stewardess told us he had prepared everything very quickly that morning.

A powerful Sonos music system plays different channels throughout the yacht.  A three-way stabilizing system keeps the yacht steady at sea as well as at anchor.  The AC aboard is an air handler unit that brings in fresh air and then chills it.  Economical on fuel, LA MASCARADE consumes just 200 liters of fuel per hour, cruising at a comfortable speed of 12 knots.  There is no sky lounge, and the sun deck, while expansive, has an all-navy blue upholstery – no color coordinated throw cushions – in the lounge on deck, but there is a divan up there for comfortable sunbathing and steering station forward.  Aft of this enormous sun deck are two highly varnished teak dining tables that face each other, surrounded by sofas on three sides, offering a delightful area for alfresco dining.

LA MASCARADE has a beach club, containing a long inflatable tender with engines powerful enough to pull water skiers, towables, and so forth.  The crew love kite surfing (so they know where the best spots are), and the stern folds down into the water to double as a jetty for the tender and is a great place to enjoy a sundowner, dangling ones toes into the water….  Stairs connect this area to the main deck aft…..

LA MASCARADE is a wonderful charter yacht, available in the South of France.
