Welcome to LA VANDALAY. I’m Dennis Tonge and this is my wife Stephanie. We run the 57′ Sonya in the beautiful US Virgin Islands and British Virgin Islands, as soon as the latter opens up. I’d like to give you a tour of our vessel. We have a wonderful bar; we make martinis along with whiskey. There’s a beautiful rear pad aft of the cockpit for sunbathing. It gets basically half sun and half shade, so it’s a wonderful spot; guests really love it. We sleep ten. We are a ten pax boat, and there’s four Queens along with one smaller double berth. Let’s look around on the upper deck; the sky lounge is up here. We’re also a dive boat, so we do carry twenty tanks onboard, ten on each side. We rent all of our equipment from the local dive shops. We really enjoy it, because it’s customized to them. We have the Lily pad, along with a kayak and a paddleboard, along with full snorkeling. I’m a photographer, so we do take pictures of all our guests, above and below water. I specialize in pictures with the turtles, or the local whatever we can find, mostly turtles, and we do dive for lobsters. We’ve been very successful with that; we really love that.
Come on inside; we’ll show you the cabins. LA VANDALAY was just refitted in January, 2020. All the cushions, everything is brand new, including the bedding, along with all the pictures on the walls, and I am going to let Stephanie tell you about the inside.
Alright; welcome to Vandalay. We have five cabins. We carry ten. We have four queens and one double, so the double would hold smaller kids. I think you’d call this the master cabin; it has a little bit more storage space. There’s nice storage space in every cabin. There are nice large drawers, and of course the electric heads. The temperature control is individual for every stateroom. Three on this side, so now we’ll go down to the other side. Modern bathrooms, lots of storage. And then we have the aft cabin. They are mirrors; they are exactly the same as on the other side. This is the room that’s a little bit small; it’s a full size bed.
Everybody loves to hang out outside, and they also spend a lot of time inside, because it’s a nice comfortable open floor plan, and the guests lost to just chit chat with me while I do my cooking here.
