What a yacht! What a great, big, sturdy,180′ Benetti, built in Italy in 2003 with opulent master stateroom, massive 34′ beam, marble guest entrance, and beautiful Stefano Natucci (Italy) interior, perfectly complimenting the gorgeous woodwork throughout. More than anything, the crew of 14, all from South Africa, Britain, and New Zealand, under the able command of Captain Tom Versteeg from Holland, love outdoor activities. All the crew are fit. All the crew are new (in May 2019); all of them love scuba diving; they are just what most of our clients are looking for; they interact with guests. Available in the Caribbean for Winter 2020, the yacht will be chartering France and Italy for Summer 2020.
Beautifully maintained, refitted extensively in 2018, (full hull and superstructure paint, full teak deck reconditioning, all new interior soft goods, etc) LADY MICHELLE’s massive main saloon has beige couches and bevelled mahogany paneling that gleams. The dining table seats twelve. Katie, the stewardess from New Zealand said, “There’s a dining table on the sun deck, another on the bridge deck, and breakfast is usually served on the main deck.” Dinner plates have gold chargers; there’s mural art in the saloon; the dining table is glass.
The yacht sleeps 13 guests in 6 staterooms – four below, one on the main deck, and one on the bridge deck. Below are two twins and two Queens, all with iPad and Plex television, offering Satellite TV. Large twins have shiny wood interior, bathrooms with showers. The two queens have large dressing area and tubs with jets, Lalique sconse lighting, and TV concealed in cabinets. “We do turn down service,” said Katie. I noticed the foyer with central stairway, connecting the cabins to the main deck offered a sense of arrival….
The master is located on the main deck with observation lounge up six steps from the cabn itself. The lounge faces windows overlooking the bow. The King bed in the cabin faces television in a central cabinet and the stairs leading to the observation lounge and has white marble columns with braided rope paneling. It’s just lovely. His and her bathrooms have jet tubs and glass showers. The entrance to the room from the guest entrance leads first into a private office. The VIP queen on the bridge deck has bathroom with shower and views. It forms a suite with the skylounge and upper aft deck.
Reaching the sky lounge, Katie said, “This is our family television area.” Wth two long couches to port in white plus four bucket chairs to starboard around an ottoman, it’s a comfortable place to relax in the evening. A Scrabble table with upholstered chairs is to starboard. The room has light brown mahoganny paneling and white ceiling indentation with indirect lighting. Orchids add grace.
It opens onto an enormous upper aft deck with long varnished dining table seating twelve. Two L-shaped settees are in blue.
The sun deck has an enclosed, air conditioned gym. There’s an enormous round Jacuzzi that can be heated and cooled with bunny pads forward. “The crew offer yoga here,” said Katie. “And we have a fitness instructor, a kite surfer instructor, a scuba instructor. All the crew do snowboarding. We all compete in iron man competitions when we can. We are an active crew. We love fishing. We love setting up beach BBQs. We’re coming from other yachts, so we have charter experience. The two stewardesses do dinner theme nights. We organize treasure hunts – Mexican parties. We love children. We dress them all up.”
The tender garage houses the three jet skis, five seabobs and stand up padde boards. The yacht is an approved RYA training centre for personal watercraft. She’s in mint condition, and she’s cruising Italy and France for Summer 2020.
