Entering the aft deck of this 139 foot, recently refurbished, 1977 Picchiotti from Italy, you see immediately that she is a classic yacht for yachtsmen liking traditional quality.  The yacht’s floors in the saloon and guest cabins are uncarpeted teak, vaguely reminiscent of the larger 163′ MARIU, belonging to Georgio Armani, a real minimalist classic, only LIBRA Y is not Armani – and much less expensive, but similar in their minimalism. LIBRA Y’s interior is designed by Bandennberg, a famous Naval architect.  It’s not unfair to compare them.   A short Asian stewardess greets you, and oh! how earnest.  She and her crew of seven have prepared a groaning board of petite fores of all colors and styles for our arrival: omelets rolled up with toothpicks, assorted fruit bowls, cheese balls on spoons, rolled in alfalfa sprouts, dark chocolate croissants, Halva, which is a traditional Greek custard pie, a Greek rice pudding, served in shot glasses with strawberry fusion topped with purple bow, a Borat flower, plus homemade gingerale, all served on the loveliest china, ceramic with blue fishnet emblem stoneware…..  The presentation is stunning!

The classic saloon in black fabrics and oiled teak decks is simple with couches along both sides.  The master beyond the pantry is spacious with teak decks, the full beam of the ship, with King bed in gray.  The bathroom is in green marble and has a glass shower.  The galley is below the pantry, not located on the main deck, so that’s different.  Below are two mirror image double bedded guest cabins forward with art collection belonging to the owner – photographs of the sea and temples….  A twin stateroom plus bunk bed cabin are aft.  The yacht sleeps ten guests in five staterooms, three with double beds, two with twin beds, all with private bathroom, all with Satellite TV and air conditioning.

The upper saloon leads forward to the captain’s bridge and aft to the aft deck with sun chairs.  It has an office and lounge.

A steep ladder leads to the sun deck.  I didn’t go up.  Side walks lead to seating on the bow in front of the bridge.

The yacht carries two tenders, jet skis (available on request), rafts, two stand up paddle boards, banana towables, two kayaks.  Please see the list below.
