SOMETHING WONDERFUL – British captain Paul Johnson has a wonderful sense of humor and loves chartering.  Chartering fifteen years, he loves the Caribbean and is ably assisted by creative chef Isabella from South Africa.  These two make a great team.  As designs go, this 58’ Leopard catamaran from 2014 has some amazing features, as yet unmatched in more recently-built catamarans – namely, I think you’ll find no prettier cockpit design than on SOMETHING WONDERFUL.  I love the ‘infinity’ edge cockpit, how minimalist it is.  It looks like there is no wall behind the dining table, but in fact there really is. It makes the views from the saloon stunning, and it’s a really chic design.

I also love that the master cabin is located on the main deck forward of the saloon with bed facing forward through sliding doors that open to a private cockpit with table, perfect for taking morning coffee.

As well, the fly bridge is amazing. The perfect layout, it offers couch, dining table, BBQ and sunbathing mattresses aft, plus hard top Bimini for shade at sea. Captain Paul speaks well.  “The dining table raises and lowers, creating a fantastic entertainment space that encloses against the rain.”  Captain Paul does in fact speak well.  He dictated my entire notes to me in succinct fashion, (although I didn’t use them).  He’s a delight!  And funny too!  Finally, the yacht is exceptionally well equipped with every bit of sports equipment plus Satellite communication internet, good  for streaming movies, and it works offshore.

The owners of SOMETHING WONDERFUL have left no detail unattended.  Isabella has all she needs to create theatrical sets out of her dining tables, complete with sea themes, using shells and napkin holders.  She decorates beautiful dining tables with pink and green flowers, and the yacht has gorgeous, scrubbed teak decks.

Guest staterooms are stunning too.  Spacious and well appointed, they use dashes of color effectively, and each has television, movies, and offers lots of air conditioning.  The crew sleeps aft to starboard.  Accommodating eight guests, guests sleep in two cabins forward, identical.  The twin cabin with lower beds converts to a King.  The master is on the main deck, and they all have white fleur de lit cotton spreads and are beautiful – A+++!

With new sails this year, Paul tells me the yacht outperforms every other catamaran out there – come sail her!

Water Toys – 15’ Novurania tender with 60 hp outboard, children’s and adult’s water skis, knee board, snorkel gear, tube, wakeboard, floating mats, swimming platform and ladder, SCUBA diving with dive master and compressor (guests rent gear ashore), sailing dinghy, beach games, two stand up paddleboards, fishing rods, underwater still and video cameras, Seabobs, streaming online media, television in the saloon and guest cabins, air conditioning, outdoor theatre with 82” screen

Based in Tortola, SOMETHING WONDERFUL will ride out hurricane season in the Grenadines from July-ish to October, where she is available for charter, and charters for $26,000 to $27,500 weekly all inclusive for parties of two to eight; rates slide according to number in party.  Christmas and New Year’s weeks are $35,750 weekly.
