People from Boston should be booking this inexpensive but beautifully maintained 48′ steel cutter, based in Falmouth, Massachusetts during the summer in droves for weekend cruises to Martha’s Vineyard to visit the clubs there, or flying down to St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands for week long cruises through the tropics, which Captain Phil always makes perfectly clear is the only place to live.  Phil has been sailing all his life and loves cruising to Oak Bluffs for the weekend to dance the night away. He enjoys sailing out to chase the whales off Nantucket, or have wine tasting parties, or sailing offshore to Bermuda to race back with all the other yachts.  As I say, Phil has been sailing all his life and nobody does it better.  He is fun, funny, and great with children!  Phil’s mission is to entertain children, so that parents can relax and have a vacation.  He is very successful at that.  Laura has been cruising with Phil for 20 years and cooks a lot of seafood!  They choose the best wines; they have all inclusive prices for up to four guests.  Ask Phil to make you a Fondu; Phil makes the best Cheese Fondu!  Ask Phil to take you dinghy jumping, to take you freediving for conch, and how he tracks the International Space Station as it travels overhead using Storm Petrel’s GPS.  Phil and Laura know how to read people well.  Whatever kind of cruise you are looking for, they will supply it, whether that be to rest and relax onboard the whole time or go ashore and explore and be active with watersports and Jump Ups and explore towns; Phil and Laura are salt of the earth; the choice is yours. Three to seven day charters (or longer) are accepted.

Your Captain, Phil Levine is a U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Captain, certified in marine electronics, CPR and First Aid. A native of Cambridge, Massachusetts, he has also lived in Switzerland and Guadaloupe. Phil is fluent in German and speaks a little Spanish and French. A water lover in every way, he is a champion competitive swimmer, scuba diver, wind surfer and fisherman. A fan of photography, classical music, literature, and the West Indian culture, Phil is an interesting and low-key companion.

Aboard STORM PETREL as the Chef is Laura Schaub, age 41. Laura has been a cardiac nurse for nearly 20 years in the midwest, but decided to answer the call of the ocean. An avid water lover, she has been a Certified PADI Diver since 1984, and has sailed her own Columbia sloop for the past 13 years. She has a passion for cooking and a love for fine food. She has attended classes at the French Pastry School in Chicago, The World Cup Pastry Forum in Las Vegas, The Cordon Bleu in Paris, and has won numerous awards for her cooking. She is easygoing with a variety of interests from gardening, herbs, photography, antiques and travel.

STORM PETREL is a 48′ Bruce Roberts cutter that Phil purchased in the late 80s and finished building the interior.  Actually, Phil fitted the marine electronics: everything from the self-steering to the solar panels, wiring, and wind generators.  It’s a steel boat and is very dry inside with windows built into the hull in the saloon offering views of the cruising ground.  She has an incredible sound system aboard with cockpit speakers, spray dodger, fitted cushions on the coach roof forward and aft for sunbathing, center cockpit, aft master stateroom, plus Vee-berth single bunks with filler that converts it into a double berth.  There is one bathroom on the ship; the crew sleep in the saloon and share.

1 Queen Berth & 1 V-Berth.
With 2 guests in both cabins, use the 3 pax rate.
