XENIA 62 – Matt and Tara are still aboard, still as lively as ever in tan and gray uniforms, offering coffee, offering homemade chocolate truffles, offering gifts, and Tara’s beautiful, braided bread. Fully air conditioned, the yacht accommodates up to eight guests in four staterooms, two identical, aft with King beds and couch, and two identical forward with Queen berths, all with private bathroom, all with AC controls, all with TV with Direct TV, all with movies from a server.
Rolled towels, welcome binder, magazines, and beautifully decorated guest staterooms welcome guests into their rooms. Warm wood tones and highly varnished interior paneling shimmer. (I love Xenia 62’s varnished wood paneling and her updated bathrooms; the showers are like spas with jets everywhere, and there’s plenty of fresh, hot water, because the yacht has a watermaker aboard.) Lots of AC. The yacht provides 100% natural products (shampoo, soaps, sunscreen), made locally in the BVI (reef friendly.)
With galley located in the starboard hull (another thing I love), the saloon becomes a dedicated sitting room for guests with doors opening into her teak cockpit (teak decks make a big difference!) with dining table and bench seating all around on the same level as the saloon for indoor/outdoor living. The varnished teak floor in the main saloon and varnished wood paneling give the saloon a nautical feel.
Bean bags on the bow and bolsters on the trampolines between the pontoons provide comfort, sunbathing. There is indeed a fly bridge with sunbathing mattresses with bolsters all around for comfort. Guests use the fly bridge while sailing for its views and to watch the sun set. They offer privacy from the dock too, although usually steering is best done from the fly bridge, as you can see the sails.
Tara makes gorgeous homemade chocolate truffles that she is a famous for. A wonderful cook, she and Matt have four years’ charter experience, operating charters on XENIA 62 in the Virgin Islands. They prefer to start charters in Tortola, but they are flexible to pick up in St. Thomas too. Please consult the calendar on the link below for a list of her bookings.
New in December 2017, the 14’ tender with 50 hp outboard has high powered thrust, enabling it to pull adults for waterskiing. Matt and Tara are called to the sea for the beauty of sailing, the Caribbean lifestyle, the turquoise water, and the many, fine anchorages, available to cruisers in the Virgin Islands, where they base year round and charter for $25,500 to $30,000 a week all inclusive for two to eight guests ($33,000 weekly for Christmas; $34,500 weekly for New Years; charters can start on or after December 27th). Rates slide according to number in party. Ideal for families and couples.
There’s a lot to love about XENIA 62, Matt and Tara.
