Description:

BODHISATTVA – For people who like to sail, this modern 65’ Jeanneau sloop, built in 2018, sails upwind better than any catamaran and is available, not just in the BVI from St.Thomas, but the Spanish Virgin Islands too, ending in either Puerto Rico or St. Thomas again, St. Maarten and “down island”too.  “We are looking at different itineraries.  We are interested in down island charters for winter.  We are definitely open for sailing charters, going from island to islad.  We may need time in between charters to get on location, but once there we can offer a professional service.  We love sailing clients,” said Captain Jannas, when we inspected the vessel in November, 2019….  “As a monohull, to get some traction, we need to do something different.’

Rates & Availability:  $20,000 to $22,000 weekly all inclusive for two to six guests, year round from St. Thomas, except $25,500 weekly for Christmas week and $26,500 weekly for New Year’s week.  Inquire down island charters; Summer 2020 available for charter in the Grenadines (St.Vincent to Grenada).

Crew of 2 – Captain Jannas Koekemoer and Carolina, a couple, are from South Africa and Argentina respectively.  In their early 30s, they give the yacht a lot of character with pretty object d’art.  The yacht looks like a home; ‘We try to keep her homey.”  Jugs of infused water and a coffee station welcome guests, as they come below.  Jannas used to sell coffee machines, Carolina tells me.  “This one makes the best coffee in the world; it’s ranked right up there with the best in the world.”  A cute crew, Jannas and Carolina are welcoming and vivacious; the word ‘Bodhisattva’ is a word in Sanskrit, meaning a person who chooses to go on the road to enlightenment; it’s the dragon; they will encounter dragons, Carolina tells me, and the yacht uses environmental friendly products and mosquito repellents in line with that well-being.  “It is important to keep the planet green and sustainable,” says Carolina.

Saloon – Centerpieces of succulents, baskets of chocolate and pistachios. A pretty, bright orange throw on the off-white leather couch in the saloon is offset by teak paneling.  Space flows.

Organic produce – In an interest to be sustainable for the long term, to pay respect back to the planet, Carolina buys organic, hormone-free produce whenever possible. They will do ‘generator-free Fridays’ in line with the Greta Feinburg movement, if guests want.

Sleeps 6 Guests in 3 Cabins – Two air conditioned staterooms are forward, identical, with Queen berths along the wall, but the staterooms are modern; each has private bathroom with glass shower. And the third stateroom is aft of the saloon, the master cabin, the full width of the ship with centerline King berth, couch, vanity, television, and bathroom with teak vessel sinks, lots of AC, wood floors, lovely art, modern and homey.

Center Cockpit with bimini awning and arch with two U-shaped settees and two folding teak tables with pretty yellow ad green table settings, glassware and flowers.  It opens aft to the steering cockpit with two wheels, ice coolers and bimini.  There are awnings for the bow also.

Tons of Sports gear – 16′ Scuba and Excursion RIB tender with 70hp engine, second 12′ Foldable RIB tender with 20hp engine, 10Mb downstream/3Mb upstream satellite option for broadband, 4G/LTE WiFi hotspot option for broadband, TV’s with Apple TV/Airplay support on Boat’s WiFi LAN system, Standard snorkeling/scuba masks, Adjustable strap fins, Inflatable two person kayak, Inflatable tube to pull behind RIB, Floating dock for back of boat, Noodles, 2 x SUP, 2 x sub-wings, 2 x sea-scooters, Adult water skis, Wakeboard, Training kite for kite-boarding.
