Description:

The owner of COPPER PENNY was a guest of industry-celebrities Jim and Amanda while they ran Catamaran Catsy out of Tortola for the last 7 years and asked them to work for him on Copper Penny. So when the owner of Catsy put the yacht on the sale market, Jim and Amanda gave notice and now two years later, with Catsy sold, they are beginning their adventures aboard the beautiful, 56′ Lagoon catamaran, Copper Penny. Legendary in the charter industry, Jim and Amanda are natural-born hosts.

With costume trunk aboard, Jim and Amanda enjoy throwing themed shipboard parties. One time they threw an Out of the World party; another time they threw a Charter Like Rock Star party, where they dressed up as Kiss. Another party theme was ‘Mexican Night.” Whether they throw these parties on charter depends on the guests. One thing they know is they like to keep the ideas fresh. “It’s fun to keep it interesting,” says Amanda.

COPPER PENNY is a fully air conditioned modern 56’ Lagoon catamaran with flybridge and indoor and outdoor entertaining areas.  It has a watermaker, and there is a 42” 3D television with Satellite TV in the saloon with Blue Ray capabilities.  The televisions in each of the three guest cabins receive Satellite television…

Among the many different types of sports gear aboard are two Stand-Up Paddleboards and 2 Bladefish underwater scooters (for adult use only), and the yacht has hull lights underwater….

COPPER PENNY also offers scuba diving.  There are tanks and regulators for 8 certified divers, available for $150 per diver per week….  The Virgin Islands are a premier diving destination!  Jim is a dive instructor, so he can take people with no prior scuba knowledge diving!  He generally includes the cost in the charter fee.

COPPER PENNY is ideal for three couples, as there are three queen size beds in three private guest cabins, each with ensuite bathroom, but since one of the cabins is a master cabin, the yacht works well for three couple charters and/or families of four.

Jim and Amanda love chartering; fun hosts, they know how to entertain with costume parties, Mexican fiestas, halyard flying, yummy meals and desserts, and they know what there is to do of interest ashore.  After 7 years on CATSY, it’s nice for them to enjoy a larger crew cabin than the one they had on CATSY and to enjoy a change of yacht….  COPPER PENNY is beautifully appointed as CATSY is….the fly bridge has comfortable seating and sunbathing mattresses….

The yacht will most probably prefer to pick up guests in Tortola….as they always did on CATSY….

Jim and Amanda Grant are easily one of the funnest crews in the Virgin Islands, and the fact that they have moved from the beautiful, classic yacht CATSY to the newer, modern COPPER PENNY says a lot about the amenities aboard these Lagoon 56s, which are very modern….

Jim and Amanda Grant make a point of offering lots of opportunities for fishing to guests.  The owner of the yacht is a huge fan of fishing and has fitted the yacht with spinning and casting poles.
