Description:

CRU – An impressive yacht, there were offerings of drinks when I boarded in Antigua in December, 2019, and a beautifully set dining table with citrus on the welcoming aft dining deck. Cute stewardess Mae from Rhode Island showed me around.  Pretty with dark hair, she has a low key personality and says, “Guests get comfortable with us; there are only four of us, so they get to know us well.”  Previously named Serenity Now, I learned the yacht is a 98’ Westship, built in 1991 but was refitted in 2019.  Her new owners from Texas refitted her extensively, putting a beautiful horse statue in the chic, minimalist saloon of colorful blues, yellows and golds; it hits you with ‘gracious living.’  Given all the glittering objects d’art, this room is pleasing, homey, comfortable, and has lots to look at – white coral, an oyster shell chandelier, lamps with soft lighting, Spanish platters; it’s very pretty.

Forward is the country kitchen and chef Alex.  Family style, this room is open concept with sitting room adjacent to the island, offering a second sitting room, and what a gorgeous room it is.  Alex was making a curry luncheon for brokers, when I was aboard, and lobster for non-vegans.

Available for $35,000 a week, she sleeps six guests in three staterooms.  The master is below with full beam his and her bathrooms with Jacuzzi tub, plus sweet second guest cabin with darling blue and white spreads, ‘the turtle room,’ so pretty.  The third guest stateroom is larger with King that converts to a twin.

The fly bridge is nothing short of perfect!  Covered with hard top, it’s cool and shady during the day, just what you need in the Caribbean.  There’s a dining table and grill; Chef Alex puts on a mean BBQ; and at sunset, the bar with stools is a wonderful place to gather to watch the sun go down.

The yacht has a 32’ Intrepid tender with 2-300 hp outboards, fishing, two jet skis, kayaks and stand up paddle boards.

The yacht charters for $39,500 weekly + expenses with ten day minimum for Christmas and New Years in the Eastern Caribbean and the rest of the year she’s $35,000 weekly + 30% APA.  During the spring of 2020, CRU will charter the Bahamas for a while, then move up to New England for the summer season, where she’ll charter out of Newport, but ports are flexible.  She’s return to Florida and the Bahamas for the fall, then return to the Eastern Caribbean for Christmas and New Years 2020/2021.

A beautiful yacht, I was impressed by the low price, given the quality of everything, but then the yacht only accommodates six guests. She’s definitely one of my favorites though!  She’s quality.
