Description:

A newly-refitted Irwin 72′ monohull, DRUMBEAT I has four equal, air conditioned, double-bedded cabins, each with private ensuite bathroom. She is run by Americans Vince and Linda Strachener, who have 21 years of chartering experience in the Virgin Islands, who enjoy taking their guests, among other places, to the little known south side of St. John, where an easy hiking trail winds through a lush valley of banana groves and coconut trees to an abandoned sugar plantation at the top. Guests can also be at sea and come below and watch the Superbowl on Drumbeat’s Direct TV. Each guest cabin has its own AC control, Caribbean art, orchid bouquet, and bright Caribbean style bedspreads. The crew of two has their own cabin forward, near the galley. Dining is offered below on DRUMBEAT’s enormous varnished dining table, or it can be taken al fresco in DRUMBEAT’s center cockpit under the bimini awning. Among the many sports activities offered is SCUBA diving. Vince is a scuba instructor and includes five dives a week for certified divers in the charter fee. (He dives with guests); he also teaches the Discover Scuba course to non-certified divers if requested, and he can complete the open water dives with students midway through their dive certification at extra cost. For snorkelers and scuba divers, Linda is a marine biologist and enjoys identifying fish and sea anemone with guests. Guests advise that Linda is a fabulous chef and that she and Vince have the service worked out; because “we didn’t have to cook and plan, it meant we could spend more time with our family.” This is a great yacht and crew! $14,500 weekly all inclusive for two to four guests; $15,500 for five; $16,500 for six; $17,500 for seven; $18,500 for eight. Sails year round from St. Thomas.
