FRENK – Viking for ‘strong,’ FRENK is an amazing 44’ Lagoon catamaran from 2008 with master stateroom with sitting room, captain and chef, plus two additional guest cabins for parties of four, five, or six, available year round from St. Thomas at great rates!  With three guest staterooms and two forepeaks for the crew, spread out around the ship, nobody has to sleep in the saloon, and the yacht offers indoor / outdoor living with comfortable main saloon opening aft into the shaded cockpit and plenty of room forward on the bow for sunbathing.  Previously in the music business, Captain Gabriel Grinan-Garcia and his wife Svetlana from Spain sailed the yacht from Allicante to the Canary Islands to Cape Verde to Trinidad and then sailed up the Eastern Caribbean chain to the Virgin Islands, where one look at St. Maarten and the BVI got them hooked, , says Gabriel. That was five years ago.  For Svetlana, an artist, the move to the Virgin Islands seems like ‘intention,’ as her favorite thing to draw, growing up was palm trees, and now here she is, living amongst them.

The yacht is amazingly well equipped for a 44’ yacht with air conditioning, generator, watermaker, onboard Wifi, Satellite TV and television in the saloon, iPod hook ups, BBQ, and all manner of sports gear including a 14’ tender with 40 hp outboard (new), kneeboard, snorkeling gear, tube, two kayaks, two stand up paddle boards, floating mats, swim ladders, beach games and inverter.  The crew shares the forward port bathroom with guests.  They sleep in the forepeaks over the bow, when all three staterooms are taken.

Available year round from St. Thomas, the yacht charters for $10,900 to $13,700 weekly all inclusive for two to six guests (rates slide according to number in party), except $13,530 weekly for four guests and $15,070 weekly for six guests during Christmas or New Years’ weeks.  Charters may start in Tortola on request.  The cost to run the air conditioning all night is $50/night.
