Description:

An expedition yacht with low fuel consumption, this A++++, large-volume, 138 ft, Italian-built, San Lorenzo motor yacht, built in 2015, has unusual long “lip” aft, before the superstructure amidship builds on top of it.  Why?  Why do they do that?  Designers are taking expedition vessels to whole new levels.

MOKA is a large 138′ yacht with lots of volume, high freeboards, wide displacement, capable of carrying heavy loads, weight aft.  Her heavy duty crane aft is capable of picking up MOKA’s 28′ tender with 300 hp outboard, cars, what have you, and storing them on deck, while the yacht travels across broad seas with shore transportation onboard.  Yachts normally leave them home. MOKA takes hers, handy in places like Norway, Alaska, Antartica, Greenland, where you want to go on expeditions.  The yacht’s low fuel consumption enables her to visit these places cheaply and independently.  Expedition yachts are designed to travel far regions of the world without coming into dock  Their large freezers, watermakers, Satellite commuications, generators enable them to live at sea independently of shore-based services for long periods at a time.  Expedition yachts are exciting and self-sufficent.  You definitely want to consider them for your seven-week, exploratory charter needs to remote regions….

What else does MOKA use her aft deck for?  Apart from the possibiity of oceanic research work, the owners use it for sunning and lounging. An infinite pool with currents, heating, and bubbles is visible from the main saloon.  Couches and chairs surround it in shade.  Instead of walking three flights up to the sundeck, where other yachts have their main outdoor area, guests on MOKA use the main deck aft, which is more spacious than upper decks, and at sunset, they utilize the yacht’s top deck, accessed by a grand central staircase from the yacht’s sky lounge, with table with candles, cactus garden, around which are multiple places to sit forward and aft, all finished in contemporary, minimalist stying, and what views!

Interestingly, the owner calls the main aft deck on MOKA the ‘sun deck,’ and there is a bridge deck as well, on top of which is the top deck….

Another option is to take cocktails in the yacht’s sky lounge, located on the bridge deck, which Shanlee rightly points out is ‘everyone’s taste – neutral colors’ – which opens onto the upper aft deck, where out of door dining is offered.  Notice the  bank of sofas, looking aft there too; the yacht is lovely, beautifully designed, functional as well as fancy.

The yacht’s nine, largely Spanish crew, headed by Italian captain Clay Dall’ara, live mostly ashore in Palma, when not on charter.  The yacht’s South African stewardess, Shanlee, in addition to regular ship duties, acts as ships concierge, booking restaurant reservations, cars, tours, tickets for their guests.  All the crew are attractive, friendly, energetic, cute.

Accommodating ten guests in five staterooms, the main deck master is full beam with California King facing TV; the stateroom is wider than it is long, but the bathroom has marble vessel sinks, walk in closet, full beam bathroom.  The accommodation deck features a dedicated gym room, plus two twin cabins that convert to doubles, using turquoise and green with Asian monkey pillows, modern art and day light lighting..  Plus two mirror image Queen guest staterooms, each with large bathroom in white marble with vessel sinks in stone.

MOKA’s bow stores the two jet skis, the yacht’s tender fits perfectly in the lazarette on the bow – the yacht has two tenders – a rescue tender plus the 28′ tender – bunny pads – and upper deck forward….

The yacht’s beach club features interor and exterior showers, bar, deck chairs, seabobs, dock, access to engine room….

The yacht is available for charter in Spain, Italy and France for Summer 2020.  In September and October each year, Ibiza welcomes world famous DJs to perform in the renowned night clubs of the island for the best events of the season, known as the “Ibiza Closing Parties”.   MOKA is available to accommodate you for these dates.  After a fun-filled night, the yacht’s five sumptuous staterooms will offer the perfect haven for rest and recuperation.  Once she leaves port, she will anchor far from the noise of the hotspots, so her guests can recover in a calm and peaceful environment. Chef David will prepare the most delicious meals, to recharge the guests after their night out, while the rest of the crew will pamper them until their next party.
