Description:

PEGASUS – 173′ Feadship built in 1997 but refitted in 2014.  Winning the Best Refit Award in 2014, this yacht offers a unique entrance straight into the accommodation deck so you don’t have to go into the saloo first; it’s got a main deck master stateroom with rooms and rooms of dressing rooms, showers, and closets; it’s got an incredible marble master bathroom the full width of the yacht; it has an eclosed gym on the sun deck, plus spa pool and massive jacuzzi; it is one of the few charter yachts able to sleep families of 18, and it also offers scuba gear for six certified divers.

Ideally sleeping 12 guests in 6 staterooms (18 guests on request) she charters for EUR 200,000 a week from May 1 to June 15 and from September 3 onwards, and EUR 220,000 weekly is charged from June 15 to September 2 from Athens, Greece.  30% APA for food, fuel, bar, and dockage is extra; VAT  TAX is 9.6% of the charter fee, and Gratuity for the 13 crew is not included; 5% to 20% of the charter fee is suggested.

The yacht cruises at 14 knots, consuming 390 liters of fuel per hour + 400 liters a fuel per day for the generator.  She sails from Athens, Greece.

Crew of 13 – Captain Stefos  Kyriakakis showed me around; young and friendly, he told me chef Nick Papakonstantinou is a sommelier; chief officer Kostas Dargakis has been aboard 8 years; chief steward Alaa Elkelfat from Egypt has worked with the owner for the last 15 years; and the owner has owned the yacht since 2004.  “We try to be flexible,’ he says.  “We run a happy and efficient ship; we sail at night if necessary.”  PEGASUS has chartered for three years.  Since 2016, the goal has been to get 3-4 charters a year;, but already 6 charters have been booked for the summer of 2019. Chef Nick won the culinary competition during the Greek 2019 charter yacht show.  The crew complement comprises a captain, chief mate, chief engineer, second engineer, bosun, 3 able seamen, chief steward, stewardess, steward, chef and sous chef.  Yachts this size require that many people to maintain it.

Sleeps 18 Guests –  Although 12 guests is best in six staterooms, because there are 17 crew beds and only 13 crew, the yacht can accommodate three supernumeraries in the crew quarters, and because three of the six double guest staterooms are triple cabins, are twins with Pullmans, the yacht can and will accommodate guest parties of 18 on request, if they are families….

Saloon – warm earth tones of rust, white and wicker create a homey feel.  Red and brown walls – central seating with lamps, modern furniture, spiralstaircase forward winds up to the skyroof offering a unique feature; the dining saloon has a round glass wall surronding eight ifferent table decorations, oriental style included.

On Deck Master – the full beam of the ship, the main deck master cabin is enormous, due to the yacht’s wide, 31 foot beam.  Modern screens create a zen feel; warm tones of red, gray, and brown set off the modern blue marble Brazilian bathtub with Jacuzzi with scattered rose petals floating on the water’s surface.  A Turkish bath is contained in another room off the bathroom; robes hang from the pegs – separate water closets and shower stalls complete the space, plus a massive walk-in wardrobe.  There’s even a baby room or changing room.

Sky Lounge: wide and connected to the main deck by a spiral staircase leading up from the guest entrance on the main deck, the sky lounge has floor to ceiling windows and again is decorated in reds and rusts and sports a white grand paino.  Lovely looking stewardesses waited table while we visited, offering us drinks from the bar alcove.

Upper Aft Deck – Tables are raised a nd lowered to offer a full beam dining experience.  Because there are no side walks, it means a beamier, roomier boat; the yacht is okay to fit 80 guests for shoreside parties.

Main Deck Aft – Dining is offered on the main aft deck also; this area has a long dining table, U-shaped settee, and windbreakers on three sides, since there are side walks, leading to the bow on this deck.

Sun Deck – A great place to throw a party, this space connects to the upper aft deck with stairs and is covered by an awning for shade at sea.  A centrally located superstructure contains a glass-fronted gym.  A swimming pool with salt water is aft.  A bar with stools serves the ample seating areas and semi-circular seating nook forward.  A massive Jacuzzi serves the area as well, in addition to the SPA pool.

Accommodation Deck: In addition to the lavish master stateroom, located on the main deck, the accommodation deck offers five additional guest staterooms.  There are two, large VIP Queen cabins with couch and bathroom with Jacuzzi + three twin cabins, each with upper Pullman berths, turning each into a triple cabin, if needed.

Garage entrance directly into the accommodation deck  -The hall connecting the five cabins on the accommodation deck opens to “the garage” or dinghy platform on the waterline creating a short cut for guests returning from shopping and/or swimming, so they don’t have to go into the saloon  to get to their cabins after swimming and/or shopping.  A unique feature, guests can leave from the cabin directly to the sea entrance, ideal for a pre-breakfast swim and/or stopping by the cabins first after a shore excursion.  The garage entrance features a bathroom, shower, table, and bar.

Scuba diving – the ship carries diving equipment for guests…..
