Description:

SOJANA – A 2003 built, 2016-refitted, 114’ Farr yawl that is a racing boat trying to get into charter.  Hoping for family cruises around the Mediterranean or Caribbean, the crew will do racing charters by arrangement, such as the Maxi Worlds, Sardinia Cup, regattas in the Med….

Comfortable on deck, there is a large open cockpit with U-shaped seating aft with sailing awning that gives guests all-important shade at sea.  The cockpit narrows to the pilot house amidships, which has two bench settees.  A little deck house, it’s a place to come in from the heat, yet still be able to see all around.   Beyond the deck house, the decks forward are completely flush and teak, like a tennis court.

The deck house leads down stairs into a lovely, varnished cherry, beveled saloon.  Oozing old world charm, it sports a lounge to port, dining to starboard with varnished table with Sojana-monogrammed white dinner plates with gold and blue trim – nice glassware, crystal cupboards – tan leather upholstery – color coordinated throws – gold framed pictures.

The old world charm defies the yacht’s real purpose, which is to win yacht races.  Despite the air conditioning units and generators, the hull is super lightweight – everything is carbon.  Sojana is an excellent sailboat.  She won Antigua Sailing Week in 2019.  She won Antigua Sailing Week for the last three years in a row.  She also won every race at the St. Barths Bucket.

The owner’s suite is forward with centerline double bed with teak frame. It has the same cherry wood beveled paneling as the saloon, sconce lighting, and television.

A second guest stateroom is located aft of the saloon near the navigation foyer and stairs to the cockpit.  It has a Queen berth along the wall with bathroom.  The third and final guest cabin is a Twin stateroom with bathroom to  starboard. The yacht accommodates six guests.

The Galley and crew quarters are aft with U-shaped crew mess.

On charter we have Captain Tom Crockard from Ireland in command, young in blue uniform plus five total.  When the yacht races, she  has a different captain that comes aboard, along with 25 racing crew, unless guests act as crew.  Each crew is a super keen sailor….

The yacht has character and a history as well.  An amazing sailing boat, she is a great choice for a sail through the Windward and Leeward Islands.

Charter fee: $63,000 high season (Christmas and New Years) – $56,000/wk rest of the year; in the Mediterranean, EUR 59,500 weekly + expenses & VAT.
