Description:

ZINGARA – The experienced crew of four aboard this enormous, warm-toned, 76’ catamaran with shiny wood interior and five dreamy, air conditioned guest cabins, each with Apple TV are conservationists, dive instructors, stewards and sailors.  Stewardess Sasha from Malaysia and first mate Camille, aboard five years, double as dive instructors and each also has their yacht master’s ticket; the yacht has dive gear and a compressor aboard; diving is included in the price; and Sasha, the stewardess, is a marine conservationist too, passionate about teaching marine conservation.  “Everything I do,” she says, “is to give back, to share knowledge and to see the bigger picture.”  Guests will enjoy the beautiful, warm earth tones and natural materials of wool and linen in the five Queen cabins (one of which is a main deck master cabin with windows all around, another converts to a twin with lower side by side singles; and all the rest have Queen size beds).  Each has private bathroom. Beds are turned down each night, and linens are changed midway through the cruise.  American captain Lee Adams has five charter seasons aboard, as does his crew; the newest crew member Sasha has three years aboard, proving not only that Lee runs a happy and efficient ship but that each crew member enjoys what they do too.

Rates and Availability – Based in Tortola October through July and the Grenadine Islands from July through September, ZINGARA charters for $42,800 to $49,100 a week all-inclusive for two to ten guests, except $55,500 to $57,500 weekly for eight to ten guests for Christmas and New Year’s weeks.

Scuba Instruction – Sasha and Camille, stewardess and first mate, double as dive instructors.  As well, Camille, the first mate, working the foredeck of such a large yacht, also has her yacht master’s ticket. Zingara has dive gear and compressor aboard; scuba diving is included in the price.  Guests need not have any prior dive experience to be able to dive from the ship.

Four Crew – Captain Lee Adams is assisted by Ed, the chef and two girls.  All were aboard last year; This is Lee’s 5th season aboard, and Camille’s third season aboard.

Marine Conservation – Sasha from Malaysia worked in Mexico as a marine conservationist, collecting data for the federal government.  The Caribbean has a big Sargasso seaweed problem, but Sargasso is also a big carbon absorber…. Passionate about solving problems like these, using the Sargasso to advantage is Sasha’s passion, as well as sharing the knowledge, giving back to the environment,  seeing the bigger picture.  The yacht supplies locally-made, organic products, shampoos and sunscreens; the crew refill water bottles with filtered water, reducing the use of plastic.

2019 Refit – new interior and exterior cushions, new generator.

Spacious saloon – With lounge to port and dining to starboard, ZINGARA’s saloon has masses of space in between plus a bar with stools too.  The colors are warm, the walls highly varnished; and space flows out into the full beam cockpit too, where out of door dining is offered under a hard top with fly bridge above.

Five Guest Cabins – There’s a main deck master stateroom with King bed with windows all around, plus four equal Queen cabins, one of which converts to a twin with lower singles for parties of ten.  These are beautiful cabins with AC controls, rust linen pillows with white and turquoise wool throw blankets, and highly varnished bulkheads.  Each cabin has television connected to Wifi; Apple TVs, all with good internet in the BVIs.  The yacht is BVI-based.  The yacht accommodates ten guests comfortably.

Turn Down Service – Sasha and Camilla turn the guest beds down in the evenings and make the cabins up each morning.  They change linens midweek, and make up the cabins fresh each day.  They put chocolates and water bottles on each pillow.

Sports equipment – 19’ tender with 115 hp outboard seats 10; adult and children’s water skis, snorkel gear, tube, scurfer, wakeboard, 2 1-pax kayaks, floating mats, swim ladder, scuba gear and instruction included in price for certified divers and resort course divers; beach games, two stand up paddle boards, lots of lures and fishing rods; PlayStation 3 and lots of games, Apple TV in each cabin, TV/DVD in each cabin, good onboard wifi all over the BVI.
